Building Belonging
Join us for Building Belonging at NIH, a transformative three-part series that will provide a platform for underrepresented voices to be heard, including, but not limited to, people of color, people with disabilities, and LGBTQI+ individuals.
As a collaboration between the NIH Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, the NIH Sexual and Gender Minority Research Office, and 8 Changes for Racial Equity, this series is focused on creating a more inclusive and equitable environment at NIH. After a kick-off event during NIH Safety, Health, and Wellness Day on June 18, the Building Belonging at NIH series will feature two engaging virtual sessions and culminate with an in-person networking and planning event. Session 1 occurred on August 13 from 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. EDT. Mark your calendar for Session 2 on October 15 from 3 p.m.-4:30 p.m. EDT. The dates for Session 3 will be announced.
This activity aligns with the NIH-Wide Strategic Plan for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Objective 2.1: Cultivating DEIA Within the Workforce at NIH. Building Belonging at NIH is open to the entire NIH workforce, and staff from all NIH institutes, centers, and offices are encouraged to contribute ideas.
