Michelle Tesoro joins the National Institute of Health (NIH) from the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Appeals team at the United States Department of Transportation’s Office of Civil Rights, where she worked as an Equal Opportunity Specialist. Michelle focused on Title VI issues relating to small businesses, helping to level the playing field for minorities, women, and disabled individuals to compete for government contracts connected to transportation. Her primary duties were adjudicating appeals, training stakeholders, program oversight and Regulation compliance. Her private sector experience includes personal injury, property, immigration, family law, and commercial real estate development. Prior to joining USDOT, she worked at several small law firms and businesses. She holds B.S. and J.D. degrees.
