Dear NIH,

November is the month we celebrate the enormous contributions of Native Americans. This year’s Native American Heritage Month theme is Developing Native Leaders to Create a Better Tomorrow.

The Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) takes pride in the work we do each day because our goal is to make a meaningful difference. We work to ensure that the civil rights of all NIH employees are protected. EDI works daily to identify issues, analyze policies, and develop strategies to help eliminate discrimination and underrepresentation of Native Americans in all occupations and at all levels of employment at the NIH. We hope that you have many opportunities this month to celebrate the cultures, art, languages, music, and traditions of American Indians and Alaska Natives.

To learn more about Native American Heritage Month as well as other information concerning the EDI Native American Portfolio, please visit the Native American Portfolio Page. You can also follow EDI on Twitter and Instagram. On behalf of the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, we thank you for your service!
